Booking your first appointment
There are different options you need
to consider when booking your first physiotherapy appointment. Do you require
and appointment for a musculoskeletal condition, for example; back, neck,
knee, ankle problems, or do you require a specialist appointment for neurological,
vestibular, cancer care, heart or lung rehabilitation programs.

- Your first appointment We will conduct and initial assessment, as it is important we get to know you and your current health difficulties. All clinical presentations are different, it is important to us that we I understand your current concerns, your goals and what you would like to achieve by attending physiotherapy at Spine and Stability. We will discuss your current pain, symptoms, function and movement concerns. Your family or support network are welcome to attend and be part of this first assessment. We correspond with your doctor or specialist that referred you for physiotherapy as well as other members of the healthcare team that are involved in your care.
- Follow up treatment Follow up assessments are 30 minutes, where we continue assess and work towards you achieving your goals we discussed in your initial appointment. We educate you about your condition, educate you about the length of time it usually takes to resolve and provide self-management strategies to assist with recovery. We provided advice and education, perform hands-on manual therapy techniques, soft tissue therapy, exercises and provide home exercise programs and management strategies. We update your doctor or healthcare professional that referred you for physiotherapy regarding your progress.
- Final physiotherapy session Final assessment sessions are 30 minutes, we reassess your progress and changes to date, we discuss your current pain, symptoms, function and reflect on your initial goals. We educate you regarding the likelihood of recurrence of your condition as well as strategies and self-management tools to reduce the chance of recurrence. We advise and educate you on how to continue to live pain-free with more movement into your future. We correspond with your doctor or specialist that referred you for physiotherapy and as well as other members of your healthcare team, updating them on your progress and changes from receiving physiotherapy treatment.
- At Spine and Stability Physiotherapy, we offer treatment of sports injuries, general musculoskeletal injuries, pre-operative rehabilitation and post-operative rehabilitation following general surgery, spine surgery, hip replacement and knee replacement surgery. We also offer specialist management of neurological conditions, vestibular and balance disorders, cancer care, cardiac rehabilitation, lung/pulmonary rehabilitation.
